During this assignment, students will learn what makes media elements "go viral", create a potentially viral video, and research and write a report on several real world examples of media creation. They will research specific viral campaigns, Mashable and Viral Measures. As a result of this learning activity, students will understand the value and infectious nature of a viral video informing the creation of more effective viral marketing campaigns that take advantage of timing and generate buzz. In addition, analyzing contemporary media informs the selection of the appropriate elements and distribution channels for a media campaign. Post a written response to the posts below in 400-600 words. Include at least three citations for your sources. For this written analysis you will be reviewing several media asset examples and articles. Based on what you discover during your research and exploration, respond to each of the prompts listed below: Question1: Describe the different types of media data that Science World used to share its marketing messages. Discuss why you think they were effective. Focus on the marking, NOT the science lessons. Question 2: After reviewing six or more viral videos from task 2, use specific examples to describe how you think the videos used elements or "tricks" to make people feel certain feelings. Avoid simply recapping entire videos. Question 3: Explain how businesses and personal brands can benefit from podcasting. Please remember to use a professional writing style and try to remain as objective as possible.
